Ah yes, the Tessar - my lens of choice
Fine art black and white landscape and abstract gelatin silver photography by Midwestern artist, Scott Edwards. Photographs shot on the Oregon Coast, Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, rural Wisconsin, and along his 2000 mile walk from Hilbert Wisconsin through the Desert Southwest to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Scott works exclusively in black and white gelatin silver shot with large format and medium format film cameras, and is a participating artist of Main Street Art Works co-op in Hilbert, Wisconsin. These fine art photographs have been exhibited in many fine Wisconsin art galleries and were featured in the October, 2005 issue of Focus Fine Art Photography Magazine. Gelatin silver photography has been shown to be archival and many examples of black and white photography printed over 100 years ago still look fresh. Scott Edwards takes great pride in hands-on craftsmanship which in wet darkroom processing results in photographs that present themselves slightly different with each individual printing, even those from the same negative. Viewing the world with a different palette helps us appreciate beauty in ways we might otherwise take for granted. Many find black and white photography to be introspective and thought provoking. Spend some quality time with black and white photography at any fine art gallery and see for yourself.
